A celestial construction chart in fine silvery ink on deep ultramarine paper — a draughtsman's star-atlas plate built from the compass-and-straightedge vocabulary. A dense sunburst pencil of rays blooms at the centre inside concentric circles and pointed star crowns, while a constellation of satellite burst nodes — each a bright speck where many fine rays converge — is scattered in perfect mirror symmetry about the vertical axis and tied together by a web of straight chords that close into irregular polygons. Great compass arcs, some dashed or dash-dot, ripple in from the corners and edges; a thin rectangular frame and a full-height centre axis complete the plate. Four ink brightnesses and three dash styles give the drawing its layered, hand-constructed depth.
