Standing wave nodal patterns rendered at pixel resolution. The function cos(m·x)cos(n·y) − cos(n·x)cos(m·y) = 0 defines lines where sand collects on a vibrating plate. Each (m,n) mode pair produces a distinct symmetric figure — the same patterns Chladni drew by bowing metal plates in 1787.
