Twisting, folding ribbons of dragged pigment over a basket-woven magenta canvas. A handful of thick ribbons are traced through a seeded noise flow field and painted as dense sheaves of parallel combed strands. Each ribbon slowly rotates along its length, so as it turns edge-on its width foreshortens to a crease and the lit ridge sweeps across the strands and flips — the bands read as glossy satin folding over itself. Cross-strand curvature and a travelling specular highlight give a sculpted, three-dimensional sheen, while a dark ink edge and soft cast shadow lift each ribbon off the woven ground.
