Domain Warp
Lumen & Logic
Op Art dot grid built from sinusoidal domain warping. A high-frequency grid of dots — defined by the product sin(k·x′)·sin(k·y′) — is spatially distorted by offsetting each coordinate with a low-frequency sine wave in the perpendicular direction. The result compresses rows of dots into continuous bands in some regions and fans them apart in others, producing the shimmering undulation illusion associated with Bridget Riley and Victor Vasarely.
