Gravel Grid

Lumen & Logic

A homage to Georg Nees’ "Schotter" (1968): a grid of equal square outlines that begins as a perfectly ordered lattice at the top and progressively dissolves into rotational and positional chaos toward the bottom, the squares tumbling and overlapping like scattered gravel. Each square’s random rotation and offset scale with its row index, so order gives way to disorder in a smooth top-to-bottom ramp. Black ink on cream paper.
