A maximalist plate of doodle motifs on warm paper, ruled like a printed page and drawn in one uniform hairline. The sheet is cut into horizontal registers by bare hairlines and each register into butting panels — no gutters, no gaps, and half the rules stopping short or doubling into a caption underline — and every panel is then handed to one of twelve motif engines: dense tangles of interlocking tubes, fields of nested capsules, rows of half-dome creatures on stubby legs under antenna stems, medallion circles opening onto pebble packs and radial pie wheels, swatch grids of small colour squares, hatch blocks, solid bars with inset colour, pin plots of discs on stems, columns of fluted cups tied back to a vanishing point, contoured amoeba masses, meandering worm labyrinths and passages of asemic scrawl. Every form in every engine obeys the same two rules, and the rules are what let twelve unrelated families sit on one sheet as one hand: each is outlined in a single keyline weight that never varies, and each is fully opaque, so an unfilled form is filled with the paper colour rather than left clear and depth is occlusion alone — no shadow, no gradient, no transparency anywhere. Colour is an accent rather than a field: roughly three fifths of all forms are bare paper, a quarter carry putty or warm grey, and only the remainder take canary, shell pink, coral, mint, a rare cobalt or solid black. Panels bleed a little past their own rules, one to three heroes are grown to span several cells before their engine ever runs, and a final routing layer sends long tubes clean across the plate, ignoring every boundary, so the sheet reads as one drawing that happens to be ruled rather than as a contact sheet of unrelated vignettes. Ghost-type clusters, caption rules and corner ticks are tucked into whatever paper is still empty, and one or two forms carry a blank face of two dots and a small arc — the plate's only figurative note, and its only concession to a subject.
