A paper relief built from a stack of window mats. Each card covers the opening left by the card beneath it, has a rectangle cut through its middle, and is rotated a few degrees and pushed off centre, so the apertures corkscrew inward to an off-axis vanishing point. The border between one window and the next is painted as four mitred wedges, each taking its own flat colour, so every ring breaks at its corners along diagonal joins and the stack reads as a spiral of colour rather than as concentric frames. A thin bright laminate core follows the inside of every cut, one raked light drops a short soft shadow into each window from its top and left edges, and the deepest cards are painted near-black. Loose cut scraps — right triangles, tapering wedges, chips and long bars — are laid over the stack aligned to the edges they sit on, and a share of them run off the board onto the wall. Finally the whole board is hit with aerosol: fine speckle fanning from the corners and a scatter of coarse droplets with satellites and one shared tail direction.
