Penrose Tiling
Lumen & Logic
The Penrose P3 tiling: an aperiodic covering of the plane by two golden-ratio rhombi (36° thin and 72° thick), generated by Robinson-triangle deflation — each half-rhombus subdivides into smaller ones scaled by 1/φ. Five-fold rosettes and stars emerge locally while the global pattern never repeats. Tiles are coloured by family, orientation or radius and stroked with ink edges; the seed picks a random rotation and offset into the infinite tiling.
