Punk Pop
Lumen & Logic
A pop-art riot-zine portrait of a screaming punk. Over a dark ground, a collage backdrop is assembled from halftone dot fields, thin scanline stripe bands, grunge patches peppered with speckle, distressed blocks of eroded monospace type, and jagged two-radius starbursts with hard drop shadows, ink slash wedges or halftone bands eating into them. In front sits a comic-ink portrait: acid-toned skin split by a hard flat shading band, wide angry eyes under heavy slanted brows with scowl creases, a stud earring, a huge open scream with an outlined lip ring, top teeth and tongue, and a multicolored mohawk — a fan of ink-streaked spike blades over a jagged-hairline root cap, banded left to right through the palette hair hues. Every shape is a flat fill traced in heavy black outline, in the Lichtenstein-meets-punk gig-poster tradition.
