Pythagoras Tree

Lumen & Logic

The Pythagoras tree: a fractal of squares. On each square sits a right triangle with apex angle α; on its two legs sit smaller squares, shrinking by cos α and sin α — so the children’s areas always sum to the parent’s, the theorem itself driving the construction. 45° grows the iconic symmetric broccoli; skewed angles bend it into a windswept cypress with spiralling square-chains. Coloured trunk-to-leaf, with optional per-branch jitter for a weather-grown crown.
