Spiral Waves
Lumen & Logic
A cyclic cellular automaton — the discrete model of an excitable medium. Each cell holds one of S cyclic states and advances to s+1 (mod S) when enough of its eight neighbours already carry s+1. From seeded noise the field self-organises: droplets, colliding wavefronts, then rotating multi-armed spirals that devour everything else. States sweep the palette cyclically, so the rotors read as rainbow storms — order conjured by a one-line local rule.
