A panel worked entirely in one mark: a short round-capped stitch, laid in even rows on a brick-bonded lattice, edge to edge across a warm near-black board. Isometric solids stand in the field — plain blocks, cubes with an ambiguous corner notched out, stepped stacks and square rings — and not one of them is outlined. Each is legible only because the grain turns: the ground runs its stitches at one constant angle, every face runs its own lattice sheared to its own edges, and dashes are trimmed hard where one region meets another, so geometry is drawn by a discontinuity in direction and by nothing else. Faces that catch the light group their rows into bands of a single ink, nested concentrically inward from the face edges or anchored as L-shaped chevrons at one corner, mitred along the diagonals so a face reads as a target or a tunnel going into the solid; the band inks step through the light end of the palette, and a speckle probability scatters neighbouring inks through every band so the surface reads as thread rather than as printed colour. The rest stay grain-only, drawn in the same dark inks as the ground and visible as pure orientation, a large cube that appears and disappears as you look at it. Ground ink is drawn per dash from the dark family with a slow spatial bias, so the field blotches warm and cool without a hard edge anywhere. Depth is occlusion alone; every mark is a stroked dash — no fills, no outlines, no gradients, no transparency, no shadows and no text.
