A knotted ball of tapering crescent blades, flat and opaque on black. Every arc is a fragment of a circle lying on one implied sphere — orthographic projection turns each into an ellipse fragment whose semi-major axis is the circle's own radius, which is what makes the mass read as a volume rather than a flat scribble. Each arc is swept into a blade by a width profile that peaks off-centre and runs to a true needle point at both ends, so the shapes read as scythes and beaks. Most elements are bare bands, pointed at both ends; a minority are fliers — two to five blades fanning from one shared bulbous head with no seam where they meet, each head carrying a single eye: a solid pupil the colour of the ground with a small glint at its upper right, so the pupil reads as a hole punched clean through. Every shape is one flat colour with no outline, no gradient and no transparency — depth comes from occlusion alone, biased by a weave jitter on the paint order so the ball interlocks rather than stacking cleanly front to back, and by a colour rule that zones hue spatially while also pulling the far side of the ball toward the darkest palette entries and the near side toward the palest. The ball can pack into an even tangle, flatten into near-parallel lenses, lean off-centre, or hollow out into a ring around an open core, and a share of elements are free to sweep past the ball and off the canvas.
